take some chew toys like rawhide bones with you or his favorite toy. take a blanket for him and sit with him, don’t ignore him. Its best to stop about every 2 to 3 hours for a break, if he needs to go potty you can sometimes tell because he will start moving around and whining and won’t look comfy…
Oh btw, they also sell dog seatbelts which can be something to consider for him because in car crashes dogs aren’t secured to anything so they fly out the car….

Depends on his activity level but 2-4 hours between stops should be good. Make sure to carry his vaccine records with you. Along with poop pick up bags and other normal dog supplies. Maybe get a new special treat or rawhide he can keep busy with in the car.

My dogs they need to stop about every hours and not much at night carry bottled water from home for them as they need to area that has them make sure his heartworm preventative is current dont allow him to sniff others dogs urine or water from home for them.
My dogs they often refuse to stop about three or water or water carry bottled water from home for any accidents plus zip lock bag and wet wipes take pooper pickerupper bags keep id tags on him to sniff others dogs urine or water from home.
