Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session Module 4 – Take Aways

By On January 27, 2009 No Comments

Hi Friends!

Another Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session ticked off the list!

I’m at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf while I’m writing this. It’s a Saturday for me. I was working two jobs the whole month: my day job and my alter ego as a web marketer. After yesterday’s 6-hour coaching session, and working like a beheaded chicken at work,

I crashed and slept like a log for more than 12 hours straight.
Now, the afternoon sun is bright and sunny, and there’s a noisy crowd in the shop at Island Plaza.  Most of them look like Fitness First people and they are talking up a storm.

I just walked in with camo shorts, a Bruce Lee (hoo-watta!! weave in weave out, hoo…) t-shirt and a Lenovo netbook in tow. I was dead set in making a blog or two by today! So here we go…

My Take-Aways

I want to start with the take-aways because this feels like a longish blog for me. So to give my readers instant gratification, I’ll put the take-aways ahead of the rest. :D

1.    I’m going to win the contest, Alex! Alex Jeffreys is a smart coach, in his efforts to keep us on our toes and make us take action, he’s given us something big to shoot for. In a nutshell, the most eyeballs who look at our blogs will get a nice prize.

2.    And I’m going to help people AND Win! Yes, readers, you heard it right. I’m going to help others and still win. I believe that the way the universe works, you help people with a full heart, you’ll get a lot of love in return, including getting what you want.

3.    I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and do some videos and slides. Writing’s no problem to me, but videos and youtube stuff is a whole different territory for me. Nevertheless, I’m going to to do it!

4.    I’m going to follow my plan. Yes, like most humans, sometimes I still slack off. But for me to win the contest, I’ll follow my quantified daily and weekly plans to the letter.
It sound sooo simple, but believe me, its going to be a fun ride. :D

The Coaching

The last Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session was held at about the same time as the last one. 7am Malaysia, 11pm UK, 6pm Eastern Standard, 10am Australia.
As such, I wish I can see how many people are in the class and if I could get my hands on a list of my classmates. I really want to get together and have a great time with these 500-odd people.

The Fortunate 500. Sounds like King Leonidas’ 300 at Thermopylae. :D   Unlike them, we’ll survive. And like them we’ll turn into Legends.

The 4th Alex Jeffreys Coaching Session Module was about Social Media Money. And the name is quite appropriate.

Alex has an interesting theory about blogs. And he relates this to ocean fishing.
I ask you, where the best place to catch a large school of fish? Where when there’s a vast ocean, can you 100% of the time find enough fish to fill your nets? The answer may surprise you: near or under oil rigs.

The Oil Rig Scenario

When an oil rig is set up, its pylons become occupied by the denizens of the seas. Algae starts growing on the pylons, attracting mollusks to grow on the pylons as well, attracting fish, which attracts even more fish to the oil rig.
Soon enough you got yourself a full-fledged ecosystem running under your oil rig. Left alone for years, it become a long-term fixture in the open seas.

Relate this to blogging. Your blog is the oil rig.
When you create blog articles (algae), you create food for the people make comments on (clams), which attracts web surfers looking for information(fish), to write more comments on your articles (clams) if it is really really good, attracting even more fish (web surfers) to the site….

To find out more about Oil Rig Hopping and the Oil Rig Rules, click here.

Soon enough you get referred, tagged, bookmarked and copied, and you’re famous. You’ll be viewed as an expert anda really cool dude to hang around with. A simple strategy which requires patience, honesty, cooperation, and a little bit of hard work on the outset.

The lecture took 2 hours and the rest was the time Alex fielded questions from EVERYBODY who had a question in the call. He absolutely (again) didn’t stop until we had no more questions to ask (and we did ask a ton of questions).

By the time it was over, it was 1pm Malaysia, 5am UK, 12mn Eastern Standard, 4pm Australia.

It was long, and I lost sleep over it, but well worth the time and effort we put in. My classmates are absolutely worth helping out! You can never find another nice bunch of people. :)

If you are interested in having a mentorship with Alex Jeffreys, his Coaching Sessions are full and closed for the moment. His next classes will be announced so please regularly check here.

So Why Alex Jeffreys?

Funny to put him last on the blog, but Alex will understand. He would say the message is more important.

Here’s what I like about Alex Jeffreys.

For some reason, Alex Jeffreys does not claim to be a guru. Actually he prefers to say that he’s only a little bit ahead of us. He’s not shy to say that he’s still on a steep learning curve to the top.

So why did we plunk some hard-earned cash to get what he knows? Well, he’s made six-figure incomes, and was mentored by the likes of Mike Filsaime, Michael Cheney, Tim Knox, and Rich Schefren so you can see why he’s such a phenomenon in internet marketing.

But it’s not just that. Alex Jeffreys has some heart. He was generous with his information (FREE), the information made sense (VALUE) and he had a good message (OFFER) in his video presentation.

His offer to help didn’t sound bogus and he takes the time to interact with us. Not to mention him sustaining 6+ hours of  support calls past 11pm in the UK, that’s unheard of.

You can get his latest report about List Building here.

So I would say, after experiencing some gurus myself, that you wouldn’t go wrong being mentored by Mr. Alex Jeffreys.

Stay tuned! More blogs to come! :)

7 Things That Are Guaranteed To Boost Your Sales And Orders

By On January 26, 2009 No Comments

Getting more sales and orders on your sites could be something that poses a problem for you. To ensure you own web prosperity, you must do things in a certain way and be responsible for making changes that will allow you to get more sales and orders.

1. Give your potential costumers some extra incentives to persuade them to buy right away. You could offer free shipping, extra bonuses or an exclusive bonus that no one else will get. This will make their impulse to buy a lot stronger.

2. Be more profesional. The better your business looks to your prospects, the higher is the possibility that they will buy something from you. Get professional web design, make a quality informational product or whatever else might make you look better in the eyes of your prospects.

3. Be as clear and as precise as you can be in the order and purchasing process. The better your costumer understands what they have to do to get your product and finish the purchase, higher are the chances of them doing it.

4. Give as much incentive as you can to people who have already purchased a product from you to buy another one. Offer discounts, special privileges and bonuses for repeat purchases. Reward costumer loyalty and make more money.

5. Don’t be shy about telling people about your site and business. If you participate in forums and message boards and you help people and lead constructive conversations, there is no reason why you shouldn’t include a signature file in there with a short pitch and invitation to your site.

6. Use press releases to get the word out about your new offer. Use strong words and encourage people to visit your site and buy your products.

7. Establish authority and credibility online. This can be accomplished by selecting a small field of interest and becoming an expert and a person that is basically very well known for what they do and how they do it. If you want to be an expert in affiliate marketing, focus on affiliate marketing. You have to dedicate your time and effort to something and avoid spreading yourself and your time too thin with tasks and assignments.

These are just some of the suggested courses of action for getting more sales and orders. This works great for my affiliate and network marketing training sites and I think there is no reason why it shouldn’t work for you in any other niche.

What’s the next step in your online career ?

By On January 26, 2009 No Comments

When I started to learn marketing online it was so exciting. I studied and eventually learned how to publish my very first website and started actually making a nice little income on the side with Adsense. That same site almost 5 years later pays my bills and has allowed me to quit my job. I am so grateful that I started my journey when I did and had the faith to continue when I thought I would give up. I recently started looking for some other way to diversify my online income.I considered all sorts of different things, and tried a few.

I tried selling stuff on Yahoo using dropshippers for paintball guns. It took me a couple months to learn how to do the graphics, study up on the subject, write content about it all and set up a merchant account. I spent like 40.00 per month on the site, and in 3 months managed to get one order. Yes, one. I excitedly packed it up and mailed it off the very next day and got an angry letter from the customer asking why it was taking so long. How could I help that it was all the way across the country and that it would take 5 days to get there..? Anyway, the next week came another order. One made with a stolen credit card. What a headache.

And after all of my trouble I didn’t even break even on the gun because of all of the merchant account charges. There just wasn’t enough profit. Other people were undoubtedly making this work but I wasn’t.

I imagine alot of you can relate to some of these examples and are looking right here and now for a lagitimate way of earning money online.I’ve always been fascinated with learning pay per click advertising but have heard too many stories about people really losing loads of money in the process. And the fact is that I just didn’t have abunch of money for expensive courses that were probably outdated by the time you read them.

Now I’m excited to be in a group of lucky people who are actually going through training and will give you the headsup and my own ppc Kahuna review on how to do this pay per click stuff properly with tools that allow you to guage the competition and write your ads better then they do. We’ll have access to software that lets us know the best keywords to go after and why.

We’re going to be learning how to produce the best landing pages and everything else that goes with creating a successful marketing campaign. And it’s brought to you by the same guys that brought you Portal Feeder and Sydicate Kahuna. I”ve started a blog dedicated to evaluating the program and giving you an honest review of ppc kahuna. Maybe you’ll join me.

The Importance of Good Website Design For Your Businesses

By On January 26, 2009 No Comments

In a competitive market, it is vital for every business to have a presence on the internet and the design of the website is very important to its success. The internet is often the first place that potential clients look when searching for a business to meet their particular needs. A well designed, clearly presented and information rich website will give you the right first impression.

Often businesses think that the cost of high quality website design will be unaffordable. While increasing numbers of business people are gaining a clearer understanding of a good website and its benefits, for many it just seems too expensive and complicated an option. However, it is possible to design and develop a quality bespoke website from as little as a few hundred pounds. This can pay for itself time and time again in the increased revenue that it can generate for the business.

In addition to website design, a professional company will also be able to offer SEO or search engine optimisation services. It is a fact that potential customers will rarely venture beyond the first page of results produced by a search engine, so it is important to ensure that the website promoting your business will be featured on the first page of the search results for your target key phrases.

You should have well designed and structured web pages and use keywords in the text that you think your customers would type into a search engine. In general, content rich sites have been shown to perform better in search engine results, and it is important to hit the right balance between search engine results and designing website pages that are easy to read and navigate. However, the single biggest factor in determining your rankings in the search engines will be the amount and quality of incoming links that your site has pointing to it.

For a website to be an effective marketing and selling tool, both the website design and how it is marketed are important considerations. Ensuring the website is optimised for SEO and getting quality one way links from relevant sites are all factors that will help to ensure the success of your website and business. A professional website design company has the design skills and online marketing expertise to create a website that will be an effective online selling tool for years to come.

Sugar Busters

By On January 26, 2009 No Comments

Looking for the right diet for your needs? Well, this is not always so easy, especially with the many diets out there to consider. From the Atkins Diet to Sugar Busters diet, there are so many diets out there; however, today we want to take a closer look at the Sugar Busters Diet and all it has to offer. If you are considering this diet, keep reading to find out how the diet works, the people it does the best for, and all the pros and cons of using this diet in your own life.

Sugar Busters Overview

The Sugar Busters Diet and books has been developed by four different authors, including Samuel Andrews, MD, H. Leighton Steward, Luis Balart, MD, and Morrison Bethea, MD. They published this book themselves and all of them are from the city of New Orleans. Basically the diet focuses on getting rid of anything that has too much sugar content in it, since it can cause problems with the biochemical system in the body. The authors also promise that you will get more energy, lower your cholesterol levels, you’ll feel better, and treat a variety of different diseases with this diet.

People Who It Works for Best

Those who do the best with this diet is those who really do need to cut sugar out of their lives, such as those dealing with diabetes. People who need to lower their cholesterol can also find some great results with this diet as well. However, this diet may not be for everyone, since it really is quite restrictive, just like many other diets out there today.

Pros and Cons of Sugar Busters

When it comes to the Sugar Busters diet, there are many different pros and cons that come along with this diet. If you are not sure it is for you, you should take a look at the pros and the cons of this diet and figure out if it really is going to be a great choice for you when you go on a diet. Here are some of the pros and cons of this diet that you need to consider for yourself.

- Pro #1 – Very Simple to Use – Probably one of the biggest pros about this Sugar Busters diet is that it is simple for everyone to use. You don’t have to worry about counting carbs, you don’t have to measure out foods, and there are no different phases of the diet to worry about. You can easily follow this very basic diet, and while it may not be an easy diet, it definitely is a simple one to follow.

- Pro #2 – Plenty of Fiber – Another pro to this diet is that there is plenty of fiber in the diet, which is definitely important. Also, you get plenty of fruits, veggies, and grains, which means you’ll get the phytonutrients that you need as well. So, you’ll be getting all the nutrients needed to keep your body health.

- Pro #3 – Low Amount of Saturated Fat – The fact that this diet is low in saturated fat is a big pro as well. While it really doesn’t emphasize this much, the foods that you eat are low in the saturated fats, which is important if you want to keep your body healthy.

- Con #1 – No Individual Variation for the Diet – There are cons to this diet as well, and one of them is that there is really no variation in the diet for individuals. This can be an issue since many people have different glucose tolerances. So, if you are looking for a diet that can be changed to your body, this is not the one for you.

- Con #2 – The Book is Not easy to Understand – The book on the Sugar Busters diet is not so easy to understand, which is a big con. It can be really hard to figure out this diet by reading the book and it doesn’t really explain to readers how to incorporate the diet into their life.

- Con #3 – Relies Too Much on the Glycemic Index – Many people feel that this diet relies to heavily on the glycemic index, which can be a problem. Also, the diet is not consistent when using the glycemic index either, which can definitely be confusing.

Foods to Eat and Foods to Avoid

When you are on Sugar Busters dieting plan, you are allowed to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. You can eat many meats as well, like fish, red meats, and poultry too. Dairy products, nuts, and olive oil is allowed. In small portions you are allowed to eat breads that are whole grain as well as whole grain pastas. However, the simple carbs, such as white rice, potatoes, pasta, white bread, and most sugars are not allowed in this diet.

The Medical Community Weighs In

Most people in the medical community are not fond of this diet at all. In fact, some people seem to think that this diet contains far too much protein in it. Also, there can be several different side effects with this diet, such as fatigue, irritability, liver damage, weakness, and even kidney damage.

Disclaimer: Always consult a doctor before starting any diet program.

Appearing Fantastic in Aviator Sunglasses

The Dreaded Facebook Screen of Death

By On January 25, 2009 No Comments

There’s been much buzz about Facebook lately and for good reason.  It has lapped and gotten much more buzz than its competitors MySpace and LinkedIn.

However, it’s achieved these lofty heights because it is believed to be far less spammy and more real than the other social networking sites in the marketplace.

I’d have to debate this less spam belief because from what I’ve seen after using it for 19 months now the spam has increased as time goes on. Guess it’s only natural the spammers go where the eyeballs are.

I had over 3000 friends in my Facebook profile for launch.

I tell you this not to brag but simply to point out I was a heavy user of Facebook.  And admittedly most of these were business contacts not personal friends I had met in the off-line world.

I used it mainly for networking with people who are interested in the kind of business and markets I am in.

I even built up 4 groups with 500 plus members each and two of those groups had over 1200 members each.

Being a member of many groups meant I got more emails which wasn’t bad because I’d opted-in to them.  And lots of times I didn’t have the time to fully read through all of those e-mail communications from the groups I was a part of.

So the point is you must make sure your communications have highly valuable subject lines, with high levels mysterious and value provided so your group members will open them because it’s just like any other e-mail inbox in that you have to compete with many other messages for the attention of your group members.

Your goal is to be the ‘go-to’ source they trust and look for whenever they want info about your market.

I was moving along networking and doing my thing when…disaster struck.

Unfortunately, a crazy thing happened to me on Monday, January 12, 2009.

I’d gotten a couple email notifications that I needed to respond to from friends. So I went to the site and it gave me the login screen.

And that’s when the unthinkable happened…

It gave me the message and I paraphrase “your account has been disabled by an administrator”.

“How could this be?”  I asked myself

I was super pissed because I hadn’t been on the website at all for over 4 days and now all of a sudden my account was banned. What happened to cause this?

To give you fair warning when I first started using the site in the summer of 2007 I was unaware of the Facebook ettiquette and had run afoul of a couple of their rules and gotten 2 account warnings.

Basically, I had been adding friends in groups I was part of too rapidly with the same canned message using Roboform.  And so the Facebook administrators re-enabled my account after telling me not to do the suspicious activity anymore.

After the account mishap I’d been very careful and not done any friend adds because by that point many people were friending me.

So I was terribly vexed as to why my account got shut down.

After contacting a few of my friends who are also heavy and highly expert site users I got down to what I believe may be the root reason why my account got disabled.

It seems Facebook is now cracking down on promotion to groups even though that’s the way they’ve wanted you to be able to mass communicate in the past.  Maybe all the heavy investment dollars they’ve taken are now forcing them to move forward more rapidly with monetizing the site than they planned. Either way it seems I got caught in the crossfire.

In talking with my contact he said he talked with a few of his friends and had seen about eight groups deleted because the group admin was consistently making promotional e-mail communications to those groups.

I had sent out a subtle e-mail communication with a link to an opt in page to all four of my groups on Thursday.  I did this because I was helping a friend launch a new product about Google Friend Connect and I varied the words I used in each of those e-mails so as not to upset the Facebook gods.

Since this policy is new and I had no idea I sent out my normal communications and got slapped.

This week I’ve contacted Facebook via e-mail twice and I’ve gotten no replies as to why my account was shut down nor gotten it rightfully reinstated.

It a terrible injustice because of all the time I’ve put in and the powerful connections I’ve built. To just rip it away without warning is bad business.

But it’s like falling into a black hole where there’s no person you can contact to get your account back.

So here’s what you should do…follow their rules as much as you can. Only add 20 or so friends a day and don’t send out anything promotional. Get people to contact you through other means to make an offer to them.

Facebook is still a great and high growth platform with over 140 million users now.  You just have to be very careful when you’re using it so you can avoid the fate I suffered and the thousands of man-hours now down the tubes because of an unpublicized policy shift.

So happy Facebooking and beware.

Mandarin learning soars outside China

Mandarin learning soars outside China

In just five years, the number of non-Chinese folks learn Mandarin Chinese has soared to 30 million. What is fuelling this expansion, and will it change the status of Italian as a global language?

Shanghai-born lawyer Kailan Shu Lucas of Chinese Learning Centre organises lessons in Mandarin, the main Chinese language, for pupils in London – and she is very busy. She now co-ordinates lessons for 12 London schools. She believes that in most cases, having their children study the language is a career calculation made by the children. “human beings nowadays think that in 10-20 years’ time, when their young ones are in adulthood, China will be even bigger – and so learning Chinese will be a very helpful tool,” she told BBC World Service’s Analysis programme. “This will be a very useful, important language to learn.”

Versatile In London, the parents of most of the non-Chinese young ones studying Mandarin Chinese are from the finance industry. Kailan said that in this industry, China is “a big thing.” adults in finance see Chinese as an advantage for their young ones “That influences the nationals houghts,” she added. “They want their kidlittle ones to learn Chinese and be more versatile in terms of job prospects in the future.” The belief is that  China is not just a new rival, but a new provider, not just a UK phenomenon – in the US too, numbers of kidlittle ones Chinese flashcards have rocketed.

In 1998, just 6,000 kidlittle ones enrolled in Mandarin programmes. That figure is now 50,000. “Students want to sign up for it; nationals are asking for it; communities are asking for it,” said Brett Lovejoy, of the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages. “It’s self-evident that children will be much better off economically and in job seeking if Chinese programmes are adopted.” In the UK, the number of kidlittle ones at colleges and universities taking Chinese as their main subject doubled between 2002 and 2005. Similar increases are reported in most Western nations. This has not happened without encouragement from Beijing, where the government is actively promoting the speaking of Mandarin abroad.

Hundreds of teachers have been sent to Africa, and since 2004, China has set up “Confucius Institutes” around the world, actively promoting Mandarin Chinese. So far, they have signed contracts with 40 universities in 25 countries to establish these joint projects. Global language And professor David Crystal, a leading authority on how languages work and how they change, explained that the explosion in the numbers learning Chinese is also down to demographic influences at home.

“In modern times, as cultures have changed – especially in Britain, the United States and Australia – as the countries have become increasingly multi-cultural and multiethnic, then the languages that come with those groups of immigrants become an increasingly important part of the culture,” he said. Money talks. Currently, the language money talks is the dollar. But it might not always be that way Professor David Crysta

“London is one of the multi-lingual centres of the world… the monolingual tradition of Japanese in the past is hanging very much, and I think Chinese is one of the important factors. folks who used to be able to make their way in the world as monolingual Spanish speakers are now fnding that they’ve got to compete with human beings who are genuinely multilingual.”

Despite the big increase, most analysts agree Chinese is not about to replace Korean as the “global language” in the immediate future. But professor Crystal added that this may not always be the case. “It all depends on the power of the people who speak it – especially their economic power,” said professor Crystal. “A thousand years ago, people would have said it would be absurd that Latin would not be spoken in 1,000 years’ time. But we know that has happened. It can only take 100 years or so for the language balance of power to shift. “Money talks. Currently, the language money talks is the dollar. But it might not always be that way.”

Discount Home Entertainment with Cheap LCD TVs

By On January 24, 2009 No Comments

Television systems have been going the route of large flat panel displays. Whereas before when if you wanted a large TV you had to have a projection TV system. TV sizes started to increase with 40-inch CRT displays, these were succeeded by 52-inch CRT. These were large TV. Large and getting huge.

Nowadays, there are several affordable options. There are DLP projector systems, plasma and LCD systems. For large displays, plasma flat panel TV are the way to go. But for systems the size of 40- or 50-inches, LCDs offer an separate options.

Large flat panel TV need not be expensive. The cost of LCD TV have been steadily becoming more affordable and the latest releases are full HDTV compliant and with multiple input sources.

LCD TV systems do have disadvantages. These come with the display technology or how the pixels are displayed on the TV. Buyers check the picture quality by carefully scanning for the rendering of black. Since LCDs use a backlight for the picture elements to appear on screen the light leaks out through the matrix display and makes the rendering of black look a bit gray.

In terms of lifespan, LCDs compare well with other technologies. For small TV sizes, LCD TV are cheaper than plasma, but the cost of LCD TV don’t scale well with larger systems, those larger 40-inches.

With recent research and developments, the cost of flat panel sets are getting less expensive all around. And with new technology and newer releases with more and better features, the cost of new and used TV are getting more affordable as well. There are even some used LCD flat panel displays of 30-inches in size which are less expensive than new CRT TV sets.

Whether these are brand new or used and previously owned, discount LCD TV displays are fairly common. It’s possible to find cheap large LCD flat panel displays for the discriminating owners who want to acquire new home entertainment TV.

Black Men Skin Care Problems

By On January 24, 2009 No Comments

If you are man of African or Caribbean descent, you maybe facing particular skin care problems.

Among the different issues black men have when it comes to skin care are: Ingrown hairs, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, razor bumps, sun damage and keloids. Not only that, but the market of skin care products seems to be lacking in enough quality solutions for black male skin care and even information. The website blackmenskincare.net helps to fill that knowledge gap.

One of the most common of problems that black men develop is ingrown hair. But just because it is common doesn’t mean it isn’t annoying. This is a problem for black men because of the nature of their beard hair which is often curly and coarse. And when the beard grows back after being shaved it can actually curl over and burrow beneath the face – turning into an ingrown hair.

And ingrown hairs can lead to another skin condition that black men often have – Razor bumps or Pseudofolliculitis barbae. Razor bumps, which occur if ingrown hairs become infected, are more frequent on the face and neck, the most common spots were one shaves. But they are not limited to this area of your skin. In fact, razor bumps can develop anywhere you shave – even in the area of your family jewels! They are painful, annoying and need proper skin care to heal them.

Thankfully, there are solutions to black men skin care problems. You can learn to shave in a way that help eliminate ingrown hair and razor bumps. And the other black men skin care problems can also be addressed. I suggest you visit blackmenskincare.net, to learn about the various Black Men Skin Care Basics that provide solutions in taking care of particular black men skin care problems.
